What are dental restorations?

Restorations, also known as fillings, are a treatment used to restore the health of teeth that have been damaged by decay or injury. Dental fillings are a good option for mild to moderate damage that does not require a more extensive restoration, such as a crown.

What is the process for getting a dental filling?

The process for getting a filling is simple.

First, our dental team will use diagnostic imaging to evaluate the decay or damage to the tooth. We will prepare you for the procedure and answer any questions you may have about the process, your oral health, or financing options.

Second, our skilled dentist will use anesthesia to numb the tooth and surrounding area as needed to ensure your comfort throughout the treatment.

The decayed portion of the tooth is gently removed, and the healthy tooth structure is cleaned.

The filling material is placed onto the tooth and shaped to fit your natural tooth shape. It is then hardened with a special light, and any final adjustments can be made to make sure the restoration fits your bite.

Will my filling look natural?

We are pleased to offer composite fillings at all Your Smile Group® Affiliated practices. Composite dental fillings use a material called composite resin, which our dentist will match to your natural tooth color. This means that the filling will blend in naturally with your smile’s appearance. You can rest assured that your filling will look natural and will enhance your smile.
